Posted by Business Insider on November 22, 2018 06:23:16Zimmerman Advertising, the UK’s biggest ad agency, is facing an investigation into claims that it spent millions of pounds on the company’s marketing campaigns.
According to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the firm spent around £15 million on its campaign for the first quarter of 2019, which included TV spots and a campaign to raise awareness of the company.
It is understood that some of that advertising cost was paid by Zimmermans, with the money going to Zimmerman, which is owned by US multinational Admob.
The firm did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
A spokesperson for the FCA said: “The FCA has received evidence that Zimmermmans advertising has been used by Admob, a large and well-known advertising company, and this is being investigated by our Fraud and Counterfeiting Unit.”
The FCO said that the investigation was ongoing.
