Tech startup Adsense announced it has bought startup Inception for $935 million, marking the second time in less than a year that the company has acquired a company for a bigger cash infusion.
Inception has built a $4.6 billion advertising business based on its own analytics that has been used by major brands to identify customers and build brand loyalty.
Adsense CEO and founder Steve Minkler said in a statement that he believes Inception’s “product has the potential to transform the way brands use social and mobile advertising in the future.”
“Adsense’s vision for Inception is to transform how marketers use social media in the digital age by using our data to build the right relationships with consumers, advertisers, and the brands they work with,” Minklin added.
In the news, Facebook announced a deal to buy WhatsApp for $19 billion.
The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2019.
